This one's wheely good...
From Supersteen's gallery.
Supersteen has also created some other x10 models.

This is very interesting as it is the same as the scale I am building to at the moment.

I really like the fence piece in his gallery, but am going to have to be critical and say that it isn't quite correct! The base piece that the lattice sits on should be a lot wider for 10x scale. It is only 4 bricks wide as far as I can tell and it should be 10 wide.

I have made 2 wheel sets the same scale as that for my Fire Car. I do like the way they have used actual LEGO pieces for the axle, but I not sure it would hold much weight. I am going to get some metal ones made because it needs to hold the weight of the whole car on them! Also, the actual LEGO ones use metal axles :)

If I am going to be picky, the tyres look too wide and the red bit on the side doesn't look quite right. I built mine the other way up so the studs were at 90 degrees to the rest of the vehicle, which made it a lot easier. Also, the 'U' piece to hold the axle has been omitted which also doesn’t space the tyre away from the 2x2 plate. (Sorry if this is being over-critical, it’s really nice that other people bother to build to this scale!)

Hello!

Cool you've spotted my creations. I'm a bit of a newbie, and the scale models is a learning experience for me :-).
Regarding the wheel set, I'm especially not happy with the lack of roundness of the tires. You're absolutely right, the axel can't hold anything really, and the pins actually bends for the weight of the wheels.

Take care, and keep building.

Hi Supersteen, nice to see you back!

I hope you don't think my comments were too critical. I think it is fantastic that other people are doing scaled stuff and I would love to find a 'legal' way to to the arm and leg joints as well as the axles, but they are just too heavy!

Please keep building scale stuff and let us know if you make any more pieces or models, we would love to see them.

many thanks,
Darren

By the way Supersteen, we would like to know a bit more about you and you LEGO hobby if possible. Where do you live and what clubs are you part of? What other things do you like building apart from scale stuff? etc

I am going to the LEGOfan weekend at Skaerbaek in Denmark next weekend, I don't suppose you are going?

Hi again Darren,

I was suppose to go to the Skaerbaek-meetup, but unfortunately I broke my foot a couple of weeks ago, so I'm pretty grounded atm. (Fortunately this means lots of time to build, just finished the UCS Millinium Falcon).

I've went ahead and adjusted the Fence I made, the base is now in correct scale: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=262988

Did you see some of the pictures for Brickcon? (http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=279070), I thought of your site as soon as I spotted this speederbike: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/tgarriso/Cons/BrickCon2007/Sunday/067.jpg

No no, I didn't find your comments too critical - I thought they were very constructive, and to be honest I was a bit honored about being mentioned at another site :-)

About me: I work as a Project Manager at http://www.dxp.dk. About two years ago we got a new CEO (my boss), he came from LEGO where he was Global Marketing Director. Listening to his stories brought me out of my Dark ages a year ago.
Now I'm mostly into StarWars and most recently trains. I'm not Moc'ing as much as I'd like, but I hope it'll happen some time. I'm 33 years old, live with my wife and our two beloved children (boy at 3 and girl of 5).
