In the second picture you can see a detail of the arm and side of the body. I'm thinking this is a brilliant (and cheaper solution to the problem of having 2 x 2 x 3 slopes). Clever! (like me for finding it so quickly).

6x Scale 928 Classic Spaceship

This is a 6x scale 928 Classic Spaceship made by Lego. The picture was on a postcard from the '81/'82 Club Rally day in Leeds, UK.

They havn't modelled the studs, so I don't think it's as cute as the x3 924 model blogged earlier, but it was produced 20+ years earlier!

x3 Scale 924 Classic Spaceship

Eric Harshbarger created an excellent x3 scale version of the classic 924 spaceship.

He used 2x2 round plated with tiles on top for studs, which works well at this scale. You can see it with the original sized model and a microscale one he created in this picture.
